FL1F SmartRelay

This compact yet powerful SmartRelay has been upgraded with a host of new capabilities that bring it closer than ever to the performance of a micro PLC. It retains key features such as universal voltage compatibility, built-in analog inputs, a real-time clock, and robust 10A relay outputs—hallmarks of the IDEC SmartRelay. Now, it goes even further with enhanced connectivity and control features, including support for MQTT, batch downloads, email notifications, and an integrated web server. Additional communication protocols like Modbus TCP Client/Server are supported, along with tools such as Microsoft Excel Access, a built-in Web Page Editor, and a wide operating temperature range of –20 to 55°C, making it suitable for diverse environments.

The updated FL1F SmartRelay CPU now includes a built-in RJ45 Ethernet port, allowing programs to be remotely monitored, uploaded, and downloaded—no special programming cable required. Users can access and control the unit directly via a standard web browser, simplifying setup and operation. An onboard micro SD card slot enables effortless program storage, updates, and data logging without the need for proprietary memory cartridges—streamlining configuration management for OEMs and integrators alike.

Other significant enhancements include the ability to network up to 16 SmartRelays via Ethernet, a redesigned LCD display for better visibility, and an improved Real-Time Clock backup system that extends retention up to 480 hours. The system is also scalable, supporting up to 60 digital and analog I/Os using the latest expansion modules (note: these are not backward-compatible with earlier SmartRelay versions). For projects requiring a visual interface, a newly designed Text Display Panel is available, now offering up to six lines and twenty characters per line—more than double the previous display capacity.
